The Title I program at Harry S Truman Elementary School is a federally-funded program
designed to help students improve in reading. Title I services are offered to students in
kindergarten through 5th grade.

The Title I staff consists of: </span>
* <span style="font-size: 110%;">Mrs. Cathy Rae, Reading Specialist</span>
* <span style="font-size: 110%;">Mrs. Patty Jacoby, Instructional Assistant</span>
* <span style="font-size: 110%;">Mrs. Lynn Jacoby, Instructional Assistant</span>

We support student learning by working with students in small group settings aimed
at meeting the individual needs of our learners.
We also work within the classroom to support our students during regular instruction.

Our program offers the following: </span>
** <span style="font-size: 110%;">The program is available to students in grades K through 5 who qualify.</span>
** <span style="font-size: 110%;">Students receive additional instruction 4 to 5 days per week.</span>
** <span style="font-size: 110%;">Materials used are from the classroom reading program, __Storytown__.</span>

*** <span style="font-size: 110%;">Phonological Awareness</span>
*** <span style="font-size: 110%;">Phonics</span>
*** <span style="font-size: 110%;">Vocabulary</span>
*** <span style="font-size: 110%;">Fluency</span>
*** <span style="font-size: 110%;">Comprehension Strategies</span>
*** <span style="font-size: 110%;">Self-Monitoring and Fix-up Strategies</span>
*** <span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px;">Grammar and Writing</span>
*** <span style="font-size: 110%;">Finding good books at the right level and loving them!</span>
